धृष्टद्युम्नेन समागतक्षत्रियगणगणना

Dhṛṣṭadyumna’s Enumeration of Assembled Kṣatriyas

इक्ष्वाकूणां च येनाहमनृण: स्यां द्विजोत्तम । तत्‌ त्वत्त: प्राप्तुमिच्छामि सर्ववेदविदां वर,समस्त वेदवेत्ताओंमें अग्रगण्य द्विजश्रेष्ठ) मैं आपसे एक पुत्र प्राप्त करना चाहता हूँ, जिसके द्वारा मैं अपने इक्ष्वाक॒ुवंशी पितरोंक ऋणसे उऋण हो सकूँ

ikṣvākūṇāṃ ca yenāham anṛṇaḥ syāṃ dvijottama | tat tvattaḥ prāptum icchāmi sarvavedavidāṃ vara ||

قال فاسيشثا: «يا خيرَ ذوي الميلادين، أبتغي أن أنال منك ابنًا أبرأُ به من دَين واجبي تجاه أسلافي من سلالة إكشواكو. يا أسبقَ العارفين بجميع الفيدا، هَبْ لي ذلك لتتمّ عليّ فريضةُ الأسلاف».
