Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 146 — Brāhmaṇī’s counsel on grief, duty, and protection of children
वसतोऊत्र यथा चास्मान्न बुध्येत पुरोचन: । पौरो वापि जन: कश्चित् तथा कार्यमतन्द्रितै:,हमें आलस्य छोड़कर इस प्रकार कार्य करना चाहिये, जिससे यहाँ रहते हुए भी हमारे सम्बन्धमें पुरोचनको कुछ भी ज्ञात न हो सके और किसी पुरवासीको भी हमारी कानोंकान खबर न हो
vasato ’tra yathā cāsmān na budhyeta purocanaḥ | paurō vāpi janaḥ kaścit tathā kāryam atandritaiḥ ||
قال يودهِشْثيرا: «ما دمنا نقيم هنا، فعلينا أن نعمل بيقظةٍ ومن غير كسل، على نحوٍ لا يدع بوروچانا يعرف عنّا شيئًا—ولا يلتقط أحدٌ من أهل البلدة أدنى لمحةٍ عن خططنا.»
