Ādi Parva, Adhyāya 146 — Brāhmaṇī’s counsel on grief, duty, and protection of children
ते वयं मृगयाशीलाश्चराम वसुधामिमाम् | तथा नो विदिता मार्गा भविष्यन्ति पलायताम्,हम सब मृगयामें रत रहकर यहाँकी भूमिपर सब ओर विचरें, इससे भाग निकलनेके लिये हमें बहुत-से मार्ग ज्ञात हो जायँगे
te vayaṁ mṛgayāśīlāś carāma vasudhām imām | tathā no viditā mārgā bhaviṣyanti palāyatām ||
قال يودهيشثيرا: «لنجُب هذه الأرض وكأننا مولعون بالصيد؛ فبهذا ستغدو لنا طرقٌ كثيرة معروفة، فإذا اضطررنا إلى الفرار كانت لنا مسالك بيّنة للنجاة.»
