अनुक्रमणिकाध्यायः (Anukramaṇikā Adhyāya) — Invocation, Narrator Frame, and Textual Scope
युगस्यादौ निमित्तं तन््महद्दिव्यं प्रचक्षते । यस्मिन् संश्रूयते सत्यं ज्योतिर्त्रह्या सनातनम्,ब्रह्मकल्पके आदिमें उसी महान् एवं दिव्य अण्डको चार प्रकारके प्राणिसमुदायका कारण कहा जाता है। जिसमें सत्यस्वरूप ज्योतिर्मय सनातन ब्रह्म अन्तर्यामीरूपसे प्रविष्ट हुआ है, ऐसा श्रुति वर्णन करती हैः
yugasyādau nimittaṃ tan mahad divyaṃ pracakṣate | yasmin saṃśrūyate satyaṃ jyotir brahma sanātanam |
في مطلع الدهر، تقرّر الرواية الموروثة أن ذلك الكيان العظيم الإلهي هو العلّة الأولى للنشأة. وفي داخله—كما تقول الڤيدا—يحضر البراهمان الأزلي، المضيء والمتحد بالحقيقة (بوصفه الساكن في الباطن).
The verse links cosmic origins with a divine causal principle and affirms, on the authority of śruti, that eternal Brahman—luminous and identical with Truth—is present as the underlying reality within that source.
In the opening cosmological framing of the Ādi Parva, the text describes the primordial beginning of the age and identifies a great divine source-cause, within which śruti attests the presence of the eternal, truth-natured, luminous Brahman.
