व्यपोहनस्तवनिरूपण-प्रसङ्गे नक्तभोजन-शिवव्रतविधिः (वार्षिक-प्रतिमास-क्रमः)
मार्गशीर्षे च मासे ऽपि कृत्वैवं नक्तभोजनम् यवान्नेन यथान्यायम् आज्यक्षीरादिभिः समम्
mārgaśīrṣe ca māse 'pi kṛtvaivaṃ naktabhojanam yavānnena yathānyāyam ājyakṣīrādibhiḥ samam
حتى في شهر مارغا شيرشا (Mārgaśīrṣa) ينبغي التزام الانضباط نفسه: ألا يُؤكل إلا ليلًا؛ وأن تُتناوَل وجبة من طعام الشعير (yavānna) على الوجه المقرر، مصحوبةً على السواء بالسمن المصفّى (ghee) واللبن وما شابه من القرابين الطاهرة—وبذلك يُؤدَّى نذر الشيفاويّة بضبط النفس ابتغاء وجه الربّ (Pati).
