prāṇaḥ prāṇeśajīveśau mārutaḥ śivabhāṣitāḥ śivārcanaratāḥ sarve vyapohantu malaṃ mama
Suta Goswami (narrating a Shiva-purification prayer within the Shiva-arcana context)
It frames liṅga-arcana as inner purification: by invoking prāṇa and the śiva-taught vāyus, the devotee asks that mala (impurity) be dispelled so worship becomes fit and effective.
Śiva is implied as Pati—the revealer and governor of the subtle forces (prāṇa and the maruts). By His teaching and grace, the pashu’s mala is removed and consciousness turns toward liberation.
Prāṇa-oriented purification within Śiva-pūjā: aligning the life-breaths (vāyu/prāṇa) and invoking Śiva’s taught principles as a preparatory act to remove mala and loosen pasha.
