It highlights “sevā” (devotional service) as a core Shaiva mood—worship is not only offerings to the Liṅga, but also disciplined attendance to Shiva’s sacred order, symbolized here by service in a specific direction with the gaṇas.
By featuring Shiva’s gaṇas and ordered service, the verse implies Shiva as Pati—the supreme governor whose presence establishes cosmic discipline (niyati), drawing the pashu (soul) away from pāśa (bondage) through devoted action.
Sevā as a Pāśupata-oriented discipline: regulated service (attendance, duty, and obedience) performed in alignment with sacred directions (dik), supporting inner purification alongside external ritual.
