It frames graha-śānti as a dharmic support to one’s life and duties, implying that removing karmic obstacles (pāśa) through proper rites complements devotion to Pati (Śiva) and helps the sādhaka proceed steadily in worship and obligation.
While Śiva is not named, the verse assumes the Shaiva view that worldly impediments arise within the karmic order; ritual discipline and purity help loosen bondage for the pashu, while ultimate freedom is secured by Pati—Śiva—beyond grahas and their effects.
Graha-arcana (planetary worship) together with yathāvidhi agni-homa—prescribed fire oblations—specifically as a remedy for Āditya-graha affliction, aimed at restoring success in intended actions.
