Linga Purana — Purva Bhaga, Shloka 21

भुवनकोशविन्यासनिर्णयः (ज्योतिर्गति-वृष्टिचक्र-वर्णनम्)

तस्माद्दीर्घेण कालेन भूमिमल्पां तु गच्छति स रथो धिष्ठितो भानोर् आदित्यैर्मुनिभिस् तथा

tasmāddīrgheṇa kālena bhūmimalpāṃ tu gacchati sa ratho dhiṣṭhito bhānor ādityairmunibhis tathā

لذلك، وعلى امتداد زمنٍ طويل، لا يقطع ذلك المركب إلا جزءاً يسيراً من الأرض، إذ إنّ الآدِتْيَات والـمُنيّين هم الذين يسندونه ويُدبّرونه لِبْهانو (الشمس). وبهذه الحركة الموزونة للشمس يجعل كالا (الزمن) نظامَ العالم جارياً.
