Adhyaya 40: Kali-yuga Lakshana, Yuga-sandhyamsha, and the Re-emergence of Dharma
साम्यावस्थात्मको बोधः संबोधाद्धर्मशीलता अरूपशमयुक्तास्तु कलिशिष्टा हि वै स्वयम्
sāmyāvasthātmako bodhaḥ saṃbodhāddharmaśīlatā arūpaśamayuktāstu kaliśiṣṭā hi vai svayam
إن اليقظة الحقّة (bodha) هي من طبيعة الاتزان الباطني؛ ومن الاستنارة الصحيحة (saṃbodha) تنشأ سيرةٌ قائمة على الدَّرْمَا. غير أنّ الموسومين بكالي يتشبّثون من تلقاء أنفسهم بسكونٍ لا صورة له—فيحسبون مجرّد الكبت تحرّرًا من القيد.

It frames genuine Shiva-bhakti and Linga-upasana as rooted in sāmyā (inner balance) and dharmic conduct, not merely external ritual or a vague “formless” quieting; worship should mature into bodha that loosens pasha (bondage) for the pashu (soul) under Pati (Shiva).
By implying that true bodha is equipoise and dharma-born clarity, it points to Shiva-tattva as the stabilizing Pati—whose grace yields right saṃbodha—distinguishing liberating knowledge from tamasic suppression associated with Kali.
A Pashupata-oriented discipline: cultivate equanimity (sāmyāvasthā), right discernment (saṃbodha), and dharma-śīlatā alongside Linga-puja—avoiding the Kali tendency to reduce sadhana to mere “arūpa-śama” (blank quietism) without transformative insight.
