It establishes the śravaṇa (sacred hearing) setting: by honoring Nārada as a revered transmitter of Shaiva knowledge, the sages prepare the ground for teachings that culminate in devotion to the Liṅga as Pati’s manifest sign.
Indirectly, it points to Shiva-tattva as that which is approached through right transmission—respect for the realized teacher and attentive listening, which orient the pashu (soul) toward Pati (Śiva) and away from pasha (bondage).
Sat-saṅga and guru-satkāra (honoring the spiritual teacher) are highlighted—foundational disciplines that support Shaiva śravaṇa-manana and, by extension, Pāśupata-oriented inner purification.
