إذا حضر متسوّلٌ زاهد أو براهمتشاري يطلب الطعام، فحتى وإن كان الضيوف قد جلسوا في طقس الشرادها، ينبغي أن يُطعَم هو أيضًا عن طيب نفس.
Sūta (narrator) relaying traditional śrāddha-dharma instructions of the Kūrma Purāṇa
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Indirectly: by prioritizing compassionate giving in a sacred rite, it aligns dharma with inner purity—an essential support for realizing the Atman through sattva and self-restraint, though the verse itself is primarily ritual-ethical rather than metaphysical.
No formal yoga technique is taught here; the practice emphasized is karma-yoga in the form of atithi-sevā and dāna—serving renunciants and disciplined students as a purifier that supports later meditation and śiva-nārāyaṇa-bhakti within the Kūrma Purāṇa’s synthesis.
It does not explicitly mention Śiva or Viṣṇu; it reflects the Purāṇic non-sectarian dharma framework where service to holy persons (bhikṣu, brahmacārin) is treated as universally sacred across Śaiva and Vaiṣṇava observance.
