Avimukta-Māhātmya — Vyāsa in Vārāṇasī and Śiva’s Secret Teaching of Liberation
प्रसादाज्जायते ह्येतन्मम शैलेन्द्रनन्दिनि / अप्रबुद्धा न पश्यन्ति मम मायाविमोहिताः
prasādājjāyate hyetanmama śailendranandini / aprabuddhā na paśyanti mama māyāvimohitāḥ
Lord Vishnu (as the Supreme Lord, speaking to Pārvatī/Śailendranandinī)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It implies that the Supreme Reality is not grasped by ordinary perception; true recognition arises through the Lord’s prasāda, while Māyā obscures the vision of the unawakened.
The verse foregrounds inner awakening (prabodha) supported by divine grace—an essential premise for Yoga-sādhana in the Kurma Purana, where discipline bears fruit when aligned with īśvara-anugraha (the Lord’s favor).
By addressing Pārvatī while speaking as the Supreme Lord, it reflects the Kurma Purana’s non-sectarian synthesis: the same Supreme reality is taught across Shaiva and Vaishnava frames, with Māyā and grace functioning universally.
