यथा विचित्रव्यसनाद् भवद्भिर्विश्वतोभयात् । मुच्येम ह्यञ्जसैवाद्धा तथा न: शाधि सुव्रत ॥ ९ ॥
yathā vicitra-vyasanād bhavadbhir viśvato-bhayāt mucyema hy añjasaivāddhā tathā naḥ śādhi su-vrata
يا سيدي الوفيّ بنذره، علّمني بوضوح، لكي أتحرّر برحمتك بسهولة من الوجود المادّي المليء بشتى الأخطار، الذي يُبقينا موثَقين بالخوف من كل جانب.
The word mucyema is significant here. In the previous verse Vasudeva stated that because he had been bewildered by the illusory energy of the Lord he could not achieve from the Supreme Personality of Godhead the boon of liberation. Therefore he is now approaching the pure devotee of the Lord, confident that by the mercy of the Lord’s devotee he will certainly achieve liberation from material bondage.
This verse shows that fear arises in worldly life from all directions, and that one becomes free from it by receiving direct instruction and guidance from realized, vow-bound saintly devotees.
Because Nimi recognized that even powerful rulers face bewildering calamities and pervasive fear, and he sought the sure and swift path to liberation that the enlightened Yogendras could teach.
