The Earth Laughs at World-Conquering Kings; Yuga-Dharma and the Remedy for Kali
श्रुत: सङ्कीर्तितो ध्यात: पूजितश्चादृतोऽपि वा । नृणां धुनोति भगवान् हृत्स्थो जन्मायुताशुभम् ॥ ४६ ॥
śrutaḥ saṅkīrtito dhyātaḥ pūjitaś cādṛto ’pi vā nṛṇāṁ dhunoti bhagavān hṛt-stho janmāyutāśubham
من سمع عن الرب، أو أنشد تسبيحه بسَنْكِيرتَن، أو تأمّل فيه، أو عبده، أو حتى قدّم له احترامًا عظيمًا—للـبَغَوان الساكن في القلب—فإن الرب يمحو من الذهن دنس السوء المتراكم عبر آلاف الولادات.
This verse says that by hearing, chanting, meditating on, worshiping, or even honoring the Lord, Bhagavān in the heart destroys the inauspicious karma accumulated over tens of thousands of births.
Śukadeva is instructing Parīkṣit on the most effective spiritual remedy for Kali-yuga—Bhakti centered on the Lord—showing that even simple acts like hearing and honoring Bhagavān bring deep purification.
Regularly hear Bhagavatam or authentic Hari-kathā, chant the holy names, and consciously offer respect to the Lord and His devotees—these practices cleanse the heart and reduce long-standing negative tendencies.
