Aditi’s Payo-vrata and Viṣṇu’s Promise to Appear as Her Son
Prelude to Vāmana
śrī-śuka uvāca etāvad uktvā bhagavāṁs tatraivāntaradhīyata aditir durlabhaṁ labdhvā harer janmātmani prabhoḥ upādhāvat patiṁ bhaktyā parayā kṛta-kṛtyavat
This verse states that Aditi received the rare boon that Lord Hari would take birth from her, showing how the Supreme Lord willingly accepts a devotee’s heartfelt service and desire.
After granting His assurance, the Lord vanished from that place—signifying that His promise was complete and that His divine arrangements would unfold in due course.
Aditi’s response models focused gratitude and renewed commitment—after receiving divine guidance or blessings, one should deepen devotion and act with faith rather than hesitation.
