Thus instructed by Rāma, the noble leader of the vānaras, Suṣeṇa, administered to Lakṣmaṇa a supreme medicine through the nostrils.
Spoken by Rama in that manner, the great Vanara leader, Sushena gave supreme medicine to Lakshman through his nose.
Dharma includes skilled service rendered at the right time: healing and preserving life supports the righteous cause and honors the duty owed to comrades.
Suṣeṇa follows Rāma’s instructions and applies a potent remedy to revive and stabilize Lakṣmaṇa.
Competent service and prompt obedience—Suṣeṇa’s medical expertise and readiness to act for the common good.
