The lord of the rākṣasa realm hurled that blazing spear at Saumitrī with sudden force—like smoky fire—terrifying the vānaras in the thick of battle.
The Lord of the world of Rakshasas instantly flung javelin, emitting fire without smoke, on Saumithri, which created fear among Vanaras.
Dharma in battle includes protecting allies from terror; adharma often works through fear as much as through force.
Rāvaṇa throws the divine spear at Lakṣmaṇa; its fiery appearance frightens the monkey-warriors.
Collective courage is tested: the vānaras face fear while the righteous side continues the fight.
