विनेदुश्चमहानादान् सर्वेतेजलदोपमाः ।।6.46.26।।हतोरामइतिज्ञात्वारावणिंसमपूजयन् ।
vineduś ca mahānādān sarve te jaladopamāḥ | hato rāma iti jñātvā rāvaṇiṃ samapūjayan || 6.46.26 ||
All of them, cloud-like, raised great roaring cries; believing that "Rāma has been slain," they honoured Rāvaṇa’s son with reverent acclaim.
The Rakshasas thundering like rain clouds, roaring aloud thinking 'Rama is killed' by Ravana's son offered prayers.
The verse warns against mistaking appearance for truth (satya): collective celebration built on a false belief reveals how adharma thrives on delusion and premature certainty.
The rākṣasas roar in celebration and honour Indrajit, convinced that Rāma has been killed.
The implied virtue is discernment (viveka): the epic suggests that righteous judgment requires सत्य (truth) rather than rumor-driven triumphalism.
