लङ्काप्राकारारोहणम् / Assault on Lanka’s Ramparts and the Opening Clash
एवमुक्तेतुवचनेरामेणाक्लिष्टकर्मणा ।संघर्षमाणाःप्लवगाःसिम्हनादैरनादयन् ।।।।
evam ukte tu vacane rāmeṇākliṣṭakarmaṇā |
saṅgharṣamāṇāḥ plavagāḥ siṃhanādair anādayan ||
When Rāma—whose deeds do not bring distress to the righteous—had spoken thus, the monkeys, bristling for battle, raised lion-like roars.
Ordered in that way by Rama, who does not cause sorrow, the monkeys roared like lions getting ready for war on hearing Rama's words.
