Sport as you please; drink the finest wine; do whatever pleases you, free from anxiety. For when I have sent Rama to Yama’s abode, Sita will remain under your power for a long time.
"You be free from fear, sporting and drinking the best of wines and doing actions that you like. Rama will be sent to the abode of the god of death. On reaching their Sita will be under your control for long."।।ityārṣēvālmīkīyēśrīmadrāmāyaṇēādikāvyēyuddhakāṇḍēdvādaśassargaḥ।।This is the end of twelfth sarga of Yuddha Kanda of the first epic the holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
The verse highlights adharma’s delusion: treating Sita as an object of control violates dharma and satya; the epic frames such desire-driven confidence as morally blind.
Kumbhakarna urges Ravana to relax, promising to kill Rama and thereby secure Sita’s continued captivity.
Unshaken confidence—though ethically inverted by lust and domination rather than protection and truth.
