अभिज्ञानवृत्तान्त-प्रत्यायनम्
Token of Recognition and the Crow–Brahmāstra Episode
साभिवीक्ष्य दिशस्सर्वा वेण्युद्ग्रथितमुत्तमम्।।।।मुक्त्वा वस्त्राद्ददौ मह्यं मणिमेतं महाबल।
sābhivīkṣya diśaḥ sarvā veṇyudgrathitam uttamam |
muktvā vastrād dadau mahyaṃ maṇim etaṃ mahābala ||
O mighty one, she glanced in every direction, then untied from her garment this finest jewel—kept bound in her braid—and gave it to me.
"O mighty Rama!, she glanced at all directions and untied the end of her garment in which she had this best jewel worn on her hair preserved and gave it to me.
Dharma in messengership: providing a reliable token supports truth, prevents deception, and protects all parties from doubt.
Sītā gives Hanūmān a jewel preserved in her braid/garment as a tangible sign for Rāma.
Sītā’s presence of mind and trust—she chooses a meaningful proof despite danger.
