Standing on the lofty peak called Lamba, resembling a massive rain-bearing cloud, the intelligent Hanumān—son of the Wind—relying on his own courage, entered Laṅkā by night: the city ruled by Rāvaṇa, rich with lovely groves and waters.
The mighty son of the Wind-god, intelligent Hanuman, an elephant among vanaras, standing on the peak of the Lamba which looked like a high rain-bearing cloud and relying on his energy, entered by night the city of Lanka, ruled by Ravana rich in delightful forests, groves and water pools.
Dharma as devoted service: Hanumān undertakes a perilous mission at night, guided by duty to Rāma and the righteous cause rather than personal safety.
At the start of his reconnaissance, Hanumān positions himself on Lamba peak and stealthily enters Laṅkā at night.
Vīrya and buddhi together—courage joined with intelligence and disciplined action.
