It situates spiritual life within Shiva Purana cosmology: even exalted offices like Indra and the divine hosts change by Manvantaras, while devotion to Pati (Lord Shiva) and liberation remain the enduring goal beyond these cycles.
By highlighting the impermanence of cosmic roles (Indra, devas, sages), it implicitly directs the seeker to take refuge in Saguna Shiva worship—especially Linga-upasana—as the stable means to grace that transcends changing Manvantara administrations.
A practical takeaway is steady Shiva-sadhana amid changing circumstances: daily Panchakshara japa ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya") with Tripuṇḍra (bhasma) and Rudrākṣa as constant supports for remembrance of Shiva beyond worldly status.
