Tattva Level: pashu
Cosmic Event: caturdaśa-paryāya (fourteenth cycle) within Satya-Manu manvantara
It situates sacred history within cosmic time (Manvantaras), reminding the devotee that dharma and Shiva’s grace operate across vast cycles, with realized lineages sustaining spiritual knowledge in each age.
Though this verse is genealogical/chronological, the Shiva Purana uses such time-maps to frame when sages and traditions flourish—those very traditions preserve Saguna Shiva worship (Linga, mantra, vrata) as a stable means for bound souls (paśu) to approach Pati (Shiva).
A practical takeaway is smaraṇa (recollection) of the Shaiva lineage and cosmic order while doing japa—especially the Panchakshara “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—to align one’s mind with dharma across time.
