在帕塔拉,谁能不生欢喜?连心念也在那里被摄受;对那已脱离约束之人,由天神与达那婆之女而起执恋。
Suta Goswami (narrating the Uma Samhita discourse to the sages of Naimisharanya)
Tattva Level: pashu
Cosmic Event: Bhoga-loka psychology: pleasure leading to renewed attachment
The verse highlights how even splendid realms like Pātāla can intensify attachment: when restraint is dropped, the mind is captivated by pleasure and fresh bondage (pāśa) is born. In Shaiva Siddhanta terms, liberation requires mastery over desire so the soul can turn toward Pati (Shiva) rather than sense-enjoyment.
It contrasts worldly allure with the stabilizing refuge of Saguna Shiva worship—Linga-pūjā, mantra, and devotion redirect the mind from captivating objects to Shiva, the Lord who severs bonds. The Linga becomes the focus that gathers scattered consciousness and supports inner purity.
A practical takeaway is sense-restraint supported by japa of the Panchakshara ("Om Namaḥ Śivāya"), along with Shaiva disciplines like vibhūti (Tripuṇḍra) and rudrākṣa as reminders of detachment and Shiva-centered awareness.
