It establishes Śiva as the supreme source: Prakṛti and the entire chain of cosmic principles (beginning with Mahat) operate by His sovereignty, so devotion to Śiva leads beyond nature-bound limitation toward liberation.
By praising Śiva as the origin of Brahmā and Viṣṇu and the cosmic tattvas, the verse supports Saguna worship—such as the Śiva-liṅga—as a focused symbol of the supreme Lord who transcends and governs Prakṛti.
Japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” with contemplation that Śiva is the Lord of Prakṛti and the source of Mahat; this aligns well with Mahāśivarātri worship, liṅga-abhisheka, and bhasma/tripuṇḍra remembrance.
