अनरण्यसुता–पिप्पलादचरितम् / The Episode of Anaraṇya’s Daughter and Sage Pippalāda
नारद उवाच । अनरण्यस्य चरितं सुतादानसमन्वितम् । श्रुत्वा गिरिवरस्तात किं चकार च तद्वद
nārada uvāca | anaraṇyasya caritaṃ sutādānasamanvitam | śrutvā girivarastāta kiṃ cakāra ca tadvada
那罗陀(Nārada)说道:亲爱的啊,听闻阿那兰耶(Anaraṇya)的事迹——并连同赐子之事——之后,那最胜之山(喜马拉雅)又做了什么?请为我说来。
Narada
Tattva Level: pashu
Role: teaching
The verse highlights śravaṇa (devout listening) as a catalyst for transformation: hearing a sacred Shaiva narrative leads a righteous soul (here, Himālaya) to respond with dharmic action aligned with divine grace.
Though the Linga is not named here, the Parvatīkhaṇḍa narrative framework treats worldly blessings (like progeny) as arising from devotion to Saguna Shiva and the reception of Shiva’s grace through sacred hearing and remembrance.
The implied practice is śravaṇa of Purāṇic Shaiva kathā with faith; as a takeaway, one may pair listening with japa of the Pañcākṣarī (“Om Namaḥ Śivāya”) to internalize the teaching.
