Suta Goswami
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Naṭarāja
Type: rudram
Shakti Form: Kālī
Role: liberating
It presents an inner Shaiva sādhanā: by ordered invocation and disciplined prāṇāyāma, the seeker elevates Kuṇḍalinī from the mūlādhāra toward the brahmarandhra, symbolizing the ascent of awareness toward union with Pati (Shiva) and release from pāśa (bondage).
The verse supports internal worship (antar-yāga): instead of only external offerings to the Liṅga, the yogin performs a subtle offering—raising life-force and attention upward—so the Saguna focus on Shiva becomes a means to realize Shiva as the supreme Pati beyond limitation.
Sequential japa/recitation of hymns and Vedic mantras, together with prāṇāyāma (controlled breath), used to awaken and guide Kuṇḍalinī from the root center toward the crown (brahmarandhra) as a meditative discipline.
