It teaches that Shaiva worship can include honoring cosmic powers—like the solar Ādityas and the rāśis—as ordered attendants within the ritual mandala, while keeping Shiva as the supreme Pati (Lord) beyond and above all.
The āvaraṇa (enclosure) method is a structured way to worship Saguna Shiva in the form of the Linga, placing subsidiary deities in outer circles as supports to concentration, while the central devotion remains fixed on Shiva as the highest reality.
It suggests āvaraṇa-pūjā: arranging worship in successive circles—second for the Twelve Ādityas and third for the twelve rāśis—performed alongside Shaiva essentials such as mantra-japa (e.g., the Panchākṣarī) and reverent offerings to the Linga.
