Paramātma-Svarūpa-Nirṇaya: Strī–Puṃ–Napuṃsaka-Vicāra
Inquiry into the Supreme Self and Gendered Forms
जगत्सृष्टिविधायिन्यः श्रुतयो जगता सह । विष्णुब्रह्मादयो देवाः सिद्धाश्च न विदन्ति हि
jagatsṛṣṭividhāyinyaḥ śrutayo jagatā saha | viṣṇubrahmādayo devāḥ siddhāśca na vidanti hi
即便是阐明世界生成法则的《吠陀》,连同这宇宙本身,也不能圆满了知那至上实相。诚然,即使毗湿奴、梵天等诸神,以及已成就的悉达(Siddha),亦不能真正洞彻祂。
Lord Shiva (as the supreme teacher in Kailāsasaṃhitā, conveying the transcendence of Pati beyond limited knowing)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadashiva
It declares Shiva (Pati) as transcendent beyond the totality of the created universe and beyond conceptual grasp—even by the Vedas and exalted beings—implying that liberation depends on Shiva’s grace and direct realization, not mere intellectual or cosmic status.
Since the Supreme cannot be fully captured by thought or description, the Shiva Purana upholds accessible worship—especially the Linga—as a compassionate, Saguna focus through which the devotee approaches the Nirguna, immeasurable Shiva by devotion and inner purification.
A practical takeaway is steady japa of the Panchakshara (Om Namah Shivaya) with humility, supported by Shaiva disciplines like Tripundra (bhasma) and Rudraksha, emphasizing surrender to Shiva rather than pride in learning or attainments.
