Lord Shiva
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Sadāśiva
Mantra: oṃ (praṇava) implied; vyāhṛtis (bhūḥ bhuvaḥ svaḥ) implied
Cosmic Event: laya doctrine: dissolution of mantra-forms into subtler sound-principles
It teaches that all manifested sacred speech and power arise from Oṁ and finally return to Oṁ—pointing to Shiva as the supreme ground of sound (śabda) and the final refuge where distinctions dissolve.
Saguna worship uses mantra and sacred utterances as supports, but this verse emphasizes their source and culmination in the Praṇava—guiding the devotee from outward supports (linga, mantra) toward inner absorption in Shiva-consciousness.
Japa of Oṁ (Praṇava) or Oṁ Namaḥ Śivāya with contemplation of the mantra’s source and its dissolution into silence—ending in steady inward absorption (laya/dhyāna).
