Lord Shiva (teaching the procedure of mantra-recitation and nyāsa in the Kailāsa-saṃhitā discourse)
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Mantra: (procedure) “praveśayāmi … oṃ bhuvaḥ”; then recite the third pāda; thereafter declare “sāvitrī”.
Type: gayatri
Role: teaching
It teaches a precise, sanctifying sequence for mantra-utterance—joining the praṇava (Oṃ) and the vyāhṛti “bhuvaḥ,” then completing the mantra’s pāda—so the practitioner’s speech and mind are ritually “placed” (nyāsa) into a purified Shaiva orientation that supports inner worship and liberation.
In Saguna Shiva worship, mantra is the subtle offering to the Liṅga. This instruction frames the recitation so that the practitioner invokes cosmic order (Oṃ and vyāhṛtis) before proceeding, aligning the worshipper’s inner instrument (antaḥkaraṇa) with Shiva’s presence in the Liṅga.
A structured japa/nyāsa sequence: recite Oṃ with “bhuvaḥ,” then pronounce the specified third pāda and recognize it as Sāvitrī (Gāyatrī) for continued practice—used as a purificatory and concentrative step before deeper Shaiva mantra or meditation.
