Aindra invitation to Indra for Soma, paired with the auspicious power of the Waters for purification and well-being
Indra
Invitational and urgent moving into soothing benedictive warmth
R̥ṣi attributions are not supplied in the input; the Āpaḥ verses belong to the well-known ‘Āpaḥ’ tradition in the Ṛgveda but exact seer/family should be fixed via RV–Sāmaveda concordance for this arcikā location.
Mantra 1
Mantra 2
Mantra 3
Indra is summoned to drink the pressed Soma and grant strength and victory, while the Waters are invoked to purify and to bestow nourishment, joy, and bodily well-being—supporting the rite’s efficacy.
It means “lord of exhilarations/intoxications,” identifying Indra as the master and proper enjoyer of Soma’s invigorating power at the pressing.
The singers ask the Waters for delight (mayas), nourishment/strength (ūrj), great joy, sound faculties such as sight/health (cakṣas), and stable prosperity in dwelling (kṣaya).
