{ "prastava": "(solemn stobha prelude)", "udgitha": "uduttamaṃ varuṇa pāśam asmad ...", "pratihara": "(response emphasizing the unbinding cadence)", "upadrava": "(after-song reiterating ‘vrate… anāgasaḥ… aditaye’)", "nidhana": "(collective closure; long settling tone)", "structure_notes": "The threefold noose phrase lends itself to tripartite musical emphasis across udgītha/upadrava; nidhana often lengthened to embody ‘aditi’ (unboundedness).", "singer_assignments": "Prastotṛ / Udgātṛ / Pratihartṛ / Udgātṛ / all." }

{ "gloss_summary": "Sāyaṇa explains the three nooses as bonds of transgression of varying degrees or triple restraints binding the offender; aditaye is glossed as ‘for release’ (a-diti: non-binding).", "ritual_interpretation": "Atonement formula within chant: by invoking Varuṇa’s power to bind/release, the sacrificer seeks freedom from faults that could obstruct the yajña.", "theological_insight": "Varuṇa’s law is restorative: obedience to vrata yields anāgas (sinlessness) and the state of Aditi—unbroken wholeness.", "etymology_highlights": "pāśa ‘bond’; śrath ‘to loosen’; a-diti ‘non-binding/undivided’; vrata as ‘that which is willed/ordained’." }
