Rama–Sugriva Alliance and Fire-Rite of Friendship
एतत्तु वचनं श्रुत्वा सुग्रीवेण सुभाषितम्।सम्प्रहृष्टमना हस्तं पीडयामास पाणिना4.5.13।।हृद्यं सौहृदमालम्ब्यपर्यष्वजत पीडितम्।
etat tu vacanaṁ śrutvā sugrīveṇa subhāṣitam |
samprahṛṣṭa-manā hastaṁ pīḍayāmāsa pāṇinā || 4.5.13 ||
hṛdyaṁ sauhṛdam ālambya paryaṣvajata pīḍitam |
罗摩听闻须伽利婆的善言，心中欢喜，便以己手紧握其手；珍重那由衷的善意，遂近前而坚实相拥。
Then, Hanuman vanquisher of enemies, gave up his guise of a mendicant, assumed his natural form and generated fire by rubbing two pieces of wood. Well-pleased at heart, he made an offering of flowers to the flaming fire and placed it between them.
