故请你暂且宽恕他,噢诛灭敌方勇士者——你的兄弟、婆那罗族之主苏格利瓦。他近在我侧,沉溺于情欲;在爱戏的逼迫下,已抛却羞惭。
'O slayer of enemy heroes! pardon Sugriva, the lord of vanara clan, who is to you a brother. He is here indulging in sports of love with me. He has no sense of shame about his passion.
Dharma here is expressed as kṣamā (forbearance/forgiveness) and proportional response: even when a leader errs under passion, the righteous course is to correct without losing moral balance.
Tārā intercedes on Sugrīva’s behalf, asking Lakṣmaṇa to pardon Sugrīva’s lapse while he is absorbed in pleasure.
Compassionate mediation—Tārā models prudent counsel that preserves alliances and redirects anger toward constructive resolution.
