Saptajana-āśrama Darśana and the Approach to Kiṣkindhā
Hermitage of Seven Sages; March toward Vāli’s Capital
कुरु प्रणामं धर्मात्मंस्तेषामुद्दिश्य राघव।लक्ष्मणेव सह भ्रात्रा प्रयन्तस्सयताञ्जलिः।।
kuru praṇāmaṃ dharmātmans teṣām uddiśya rāghava | lakṣmaṇenaiva saha bhrātrā prayataḥ sayatāñjaliḥ ||
正义的罗伽婆啊,请在心中向他们致敬;你与弟弟罗什曼那一同克制前行,合掌恭敬。
'O rigteous Rama! you and your brother Lakshmana humbly offer obeisance to them(sacred hermitage and sages Saptajana) with folded hands and meditate on them.
Maryādā (right conduct) is central: sacred persons and places must be approached with humility, mental reverence, and disciplined bodily comportment.
Before entering/approaching the powerful hermitage, Rāma is instructed to offer respectful obeisance and proceed with Lakṣmaṇa in a reverent manner.
Humility (vinaya): honoring spiritual excellence through respectful speech, thought, and gesture.
