Genealogy of the Ikshvaku Line and the Proposal for Marriage
शासनात्तु नरेन्द्रस्य प्रययुश्शीघ्रवाजिभि:।समानेतुं नरव्याघ्रं विष्णुमिन्द्राज्ञया यथा।।1.70.6।।
śāsanāt tu narendrasya prayayuḥ śīghravājibhiḥ |
samānetuṃ naravyāghraṃ viṣṇum indrājñayā yathā || 1.70.6 ||
奉国王之命,他们乘快马疾驰而去,要迎来那位人中之虎——如同因因陀罗之令而召请毗湿奴(Viṣṇu)一般。
In obedience to the command of Indra among men (king Janaka), the messengers rode away on swift horses to bring king Kusadhwaja, a tiger among men just like fetching Visnu by the orders of Indra.
Dharma is disciplined obedience within rightful authority: messengers promptly carry out a king’s legitimate command.
Janaka dispatches messengers swiftly to summon Kuśadhvaja for the impending royal decision and marriage rites.
Promptness and loyalty in service (the attendants’ faithful execution of duty).
