Sunassepha’s Rescue and Visvamitra’s Curse
niḥsādhvasam idaṃ proktaṃ dharmād api vigarhitam | atikramya tu mad-vākyaṃ dāruṇaṃ roma-harṣaṇam ||
"(You have) not only trangressed my words but also (you are) censurable according to dharma. You have uttered such audacious and dreadrul words causing the hair to stand on end.
Dharma includes restraint in speech and honoring legitimate authority; violating a righteous command and speaking improperly is condemned.
Viśvāmitra rebukes his sons for opposing him and for the manner of their objection.
The virtue emphasized is adherence to satya-like steadfastness to one’s declared course, coupled with dharmic discipline in conduct and speech.
