O King! what are you performing the penance for? Tell me what you want? I am bestower of boons. Speak out you desire (said Lord Siva).
Satya and clarity of intention: the divine prompts the seeker to articulate a truthful aim, implying that spiritual gifts should be sought with transparent purpose.
Śiva addresses Viśvāmitra directly, inviting him to state the reason for his tapas and the boon he seeks.
Truthful self-disclosure and intentionality in spiritual pursuit.
