Narada’s Summary to Valmiki
बिभेद च पुनस्सालान्सप्तैकेन महेषुणा ।गिरिं रसातलं चैव जनयन्प्रत्ययं तथा ।।।।
bibheda ca punaḥ sālān saptaikena maheṣuṇā |
giriṃ rasātalaṃ caiva janayan pratyayaṃ tathā ||
他又为使人彻底信服,以一支雄伟之箭贯穿七株娑罗树,并连同一座山岳,直达罗萨塔拉之界。
Again inorder to create confidence (in Sugriva), he released a single mighty shaft which penetrated seven palmyra trees, a mountain and the Rasatala.
Dharma includes competence in service of a righteous promise: Rāma’s display is not mere spectacle, but assurance that he can protect an ally and fulfill a pledged duty.
Rāma performs the famed feat of piercing multiple trees (and beyond) with one arrow, strengthening Sugrīva’s confidence before confronting Vāli.
Reliability and protective strength—Rāma demonstrates that his support is effective, making his vow ethically weighty and practically credible.
