तेषां गतानामद्यापि दृश्यते परिचारिणी।।3.73.25।।श्रमणी शबरी नाम काकुत्स्थ चिरजीविनी।
teṣāṁ gatānām adyāpi dṛśyate paricāriṇī || 3.73.25 ||
śramaṇī śabarī nāma kākutstha cirajīvinī |
纵然他们早已离去,至今仍可见其侍奉者——名为舍婆梨的女修行者,迦拘特斯陀啊,寿命绵长。
While drops of sweat from the bodies of sage Matanga's disciples fell on earth under the heavy load of forest products they carried for their preceptor, they remained in a calm state. Those drops of sweat turned into flowers and those flowers do not wither due to the power of penance of the sages.
Dharma includes steadfast commitment: Śabarī’s continued presence as an ascetic attendant reflects unwavering dedication to a sacred community and its vows.
Lakṣmaṇa introduces Śabarī as still living near the hermitage tradition connected with Matanga’s disciples.
Perseverance and fidelity to duty: Śabarī remains devoted over time, embodying patient, disciplined spiritual life.
