Ayomukhi Encounter and the ظهور of Kabandha
ततः पूर्वेण तौ गत्वा त्रिक्रोशं भ्रातरौ तदा।क्रौञ्चारण्यमतिक्रम्य मतङ्गाश्रममन्तरा।।3.69.8।।दृष्ट्वा तु तद्वनं घोरं बहुभीममृगद्विजम्।ननासत्त्वसमाकीर्णं सर्वं गहनपादपम्।।3.69.9।।ददृशाते तु तौ तत्र दरीं दशरथात्मजौ।पातालसमगम्भीरां तमसा नित्यसंवृताम्।।3.69.10।।
tataḥ pūrveṇa tau gatvā trikrōśaṃ bhrātarau tadā |
krauñcāraṇyam atikramya mataṅgāśramam antarā || 3.69.8 ||
dṛṣṭvā tu tad vanaṃ ghoraṃ bahubhīmamṛgadvijam |
nānāsattvasamākīrṇaṃ sarvaṃ gahanapādapam || 3.69.9 ||
dadṛśāte tu tau tatra darīṃ daśarathātmajau |
pātālasamagambhīrāṃ tamasā nityasaṃvṛtām || 3.69.10 ||
此处合并编号重述同一情景:两位兄弟向东方行三拘舍,越过靠近摩当伽圣者修行林(āśrama)的鸠槃遮森林;见到一片可怖密林,树木幽深、众生充塞;又望见一座洞窟,永被黑暗遮蔽,深如波多罗(Pātāla)。
Tormented due to abduction of Sita, the two princes anxious to see her searched all over the dense forest stopping here and there on the way. The thick forest looked like a conglomeration of big clouds. It was filled with different kinds of birds, snakes and animals.
Dharma is maintained by continuing the rightful quest despite ominous signs—duty is not abandoned due to fear.
