Jatayu’s Combat with Ravana
विददार नखैरस्य तुण्डं पृष्ठे समर्पयन्।।।।केशांश्चोत्पाटयामास नखपक्षमुखायुधः।
vidadāra nakhair asya tuṇḍaṁ pṛṣṭhe samarpayan | keśāṁś cotpāṭayāmāsa nakha-pakṣa-mukhāyudhaḥ ||
他将喙紧压在罗波那背上,以爪撕裂其身,甚至拔下其发;他以爪、翼与喙为兵器而战。
Jatayu who had his claws, wings and beak as the only weapons pierced and pricked Ravana all over with his nails by pressing his beak on his back and pulled out his hair.
Steadfastness in righteous action: Jaṭāyu employs whatever means he has to oppose wrongdoing, showing that dharma is upheld through sincere effort, not perfect resources.
Jaṭāyu intensifies his assault on Rāvaṇa, using beak and talons to injure him and hinder the abduction.
