FAQs

The Aśvamedha is a major Vedic royal sacrifice associated with sovereignty and ritual legitimacy, described here as being performed with complete and splendid preparations.

Śatrughna is identified as the (king’s) brother and praised as a “great hero,” characterized as a slayer of enemy warriors (paravīrahā).

The verse highlights royal responsibility expressed through sanctioned ritual (yajña) and the protective valor of a kṣatriya, presenting order, legitimacy, and defense as complementary duties.
