Chapter 58: Arjuna’s Deployment of the Indra-Weapon

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores disciplined excellence (abhyāsa and ekāgratā) in the performance of one’s duty: Arjuna’s flawless continuity of action symbolizes mastery governed by purpose and responsibility in a dharmic struggle, not impulsive violence.

During the Virāṭa episode’s battle scene, Arjuna’s archery is described as so swift and continuous that observers cannot detect any pause between his taking, placing, and releasing arrows—an image of overwhelming martial superiority.
