Śamī-vṛkṣe śastra-nidhāna and Entry into Virāṭa’s Capital (शमीवृक्षे शस्त्रनिधानम्)

पाज्चालान्‌ येन संग्रामे भीमसेनो5जयत्‌ प्रभु: । प्रत्यषेधद्‌ बहूनेक: सपत्नांश्वैव दिग्जये,भीमसेनने जिसके द्वारा पांचाल वीरोंपर विजय पायी थी, दिग्विजयके समय उन्होंने अकेले ही जिसकी सहायतासे बहुतेरे शत्रुओंको परास्त किया था, वज्रके फटने और पर्वतके विदीर्ण होनेके समान जिसका भयंकर टंकार सुनकर कितने ही शत्रु युद्ध छोड़कर भाग खड़े हुए तथा जिसके सहयोगसे उन्होंने सिन्धुराज जयद्रथको परास्त किया था, अपने उसी धनुषकी प्रत्यंचा भीमसेनने भी उतार दिया

pāñcālān yena saṅgrāme bhīmaseno 'jayat prabhuḥ |

pratyaṣedhad bahūn ekaḥ sapatnāṃś caiva digjaye ||

毗湿摩耶那说道:凭借那件兵器(那张弓),强大的毗摩军曾在战阵中战胜般遮罗人;在四方征服之时,他又曾独力击退众多对手——如今,毗摩军也解下其弓弦;此举表明他有意收敛战备之势,以自制而非纵力。

Educational Q&A
