Righteous people uphold and strengthen those who live by dharma—especially in hardship—through sacred acts (tapas, sacrifice, giving) and through blessings that affirm moral resolve and auspicious direction.
Dharma-minded persons (typically sages/holy men in the forest context) approach the Pāṇḍavas, connect them with holy places, and honor them through austerities, ritual acts, gifts, and benedictions—signaling communal spiritual support for the exiled heroes.
