युधिष्ठिरस्य अर्जुनप्रेषण-युक्तिवर्णनम् | Yudhiṣṭhira’s Rationale for Sending Arjuna and Request to Dhaumya

अधिगम्य महादेवं वरदं विष्णुमव्ययम्‌,वहाँ वर देनेवाले महान्‌ देवता अविनाशी भगवान्‌ विष्णुके निकट जाकर उनका दर्शन और पूजन करे

adhigamya mahādevaṁ varadaṁ viṣṇum avyayam, tatra varadān mahān devatā avināśī bhagavān viṣṇoḥ nikaṭaṁ gatvā tasya darśanaṁ pūjanaṁ ca kuryāt

既已趋近大天神——不坏而施愿的毗湿奴(Viṣṇu)——便当入其圣前,瞻仰其容,奉敬而礼拜。此诫意在申明:真正的援助与正当的福佑,当以虔敬求之于神明,而非凭恃武力或自以为应得。
